British broadcaster ‘in love’ with Philippines

LONDON - British broadcaster Carol McGiffin has been raving about the Philippines following a holiday in one of the country’s most beautiful islands.
McGiffin, who is known for her work on radio and television, visited the capital city of Manila before heading to the luxurious island of Boracay in the western Visayas region.
“I've fallen in love with the Philippines. It is just the most beautiful, stunning place,” she declared on "Loose Women," a daytime television talkshow that she presents with other female celebrities.
She wrote in her column for Closer magazine: “I love it, but I can’t help feeling I’m betraying my first love, Thailand, which it easily matches by way of hospitality, service, beauty and food. For value though, it beats Thailand by a mile - it’s so cheap!”
The media personality was charmed by the country’s hospitality, claiming that Filipinos are the “happiest race in the world.” She loved the “welcoming people, mysterious volcanoes, and the mangoes.”
McGiffin was in the country to “[absorb] some much needed Vitamin D from the sunshine,” and to visit her brother who works locally as a construction project manager.
Traveling with her fiancé, she stayed in the exclusive Fridays resort along the famous White Beach. “It’s like walking on flour,” she said.
McGiffin is best known as a co-presenter of Loose Women on ITV1, a live discussion panel on lifestyle and current affairs. She also appeared on several television programs including Who Wants to be a Millionaire, The Wright Stuff, Celebrity Juice, and 8 Out of 10 Cats. Her radio credits include BBC London, Real Radio and LBC.
